A little piece of old Topsail Island history. 🌊

This tee features our exclusive Topsail Island Swing Bridge design, heat pressed in vinyl at 10" wide. The photo was taken locally by photographer Olivia Jean in 2018, capturing the iconic bridge that generations of visitors crossed on their way onto Topsail Island.

The original Swing Bridge connected the mainland to Topsail Island for more than 60 years. Built in the 1950s, the steel bridge crossed the Intracoastal Waterway and would swing open to let boats pass through. For generations of families, crossing that bridge became part of the Topsail experience — the sound of tires rolling across the steel and the sight of the bridge meant you had officially arrived at the beach.

The Swing Bridge was replaced by the current Surf City high-rise bridge in December 2018. While the old bridge is gone, it remains a beloved piece of Topsail Island history and a nostalgic reminder of beach trips, family vacations, and summers spent on the island.
